Third Sunday of Advent: JOY
Everlasting Father
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:10-11
We remember the incredible joy felt at the birth of our Lord, as well as the joy we have in anticipation of His return.
Get still. Take 2 or 3 deep breaths.
“Lord, You are the Everlasting Father. I give You my sadness and worries.” (name them)
Take a deep breath
“I acknowledge Your presence with me, and I receive the joy You freely give me.”
Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong?
(Angels We Have Heard on High)
Joy to the world! The Lord has come!
(Joy to the World!)
